Help Me Make a Difference in Peru

Hi everyone! My name is Alex Ratcliffe, I’m 14 years old, and I’m in Year 9 at school. In 2026, I have an incredible opportunity to travel to Peru for four weeks with Camps International, an award-winning global leader in ethical and sustainable school expeditions.

During my time in Peru, I’ll be working alongside rural and indigenous communities to help improve their living standards. The projects I’ll be involved in will focus on education, training, healthcare, clean water, and shelter—essentials that so many of us take for granted.

This opportunity is a chance for me to help make a real impact. I’ll be building, learning, and problem-solving to help those in need, while also experiencing a new culture, developing new skills, and challenging myself in ways I never have before.

This will be my first trip overseas without my family, and while it’s a big adventure, it’s also a big responsibility. I need to fundraise to cover the costs of this expedition. I have many plans for fundraising, including a pop up car wash and homemade dessert sales in my local area. I am also keen to gain corporate sponsorship and am committing to run a number of 10K running events within a fixed duration of time.
