Alex Coggins' Celebration of Life

Hello beautiful souls,

My name is Vanessa Cook, Godmother of Alex Coggins. The family met devastation last Saturday, February 11, 2023. The unspeakable occurred and amid this event, I am asking our family, friends, and beloved community to come around his family and lift them up. At the beautiful age of 16, his mother and grandparents could never foresee a tragic event such as this.

Alex was an extraordinary human with a light that shone so brightly, that those who didn't know of him could even see it. Alex had a passion for hard work, sports, the outdoors, his dogs, Smoke and Bingo, his grandparents, being the best role model for his little brother, and so much more. Those who loved Alex have endless stories of his humor, athleticism, strength, intelligence, creativity, and silent resilience.

Alex spent this last year and a half walking through life with a newfound purpose and desire to live in his birthplace, Mauston. He lived with his beloved grandparents, Karen and Dave Householder. In this new walk, he began volunteering at the food pantry, working at Festival Foods, lettering in football and basketball, refining his artistic skills, laboring on his grandparent's farm, and so much more.

I am asking for those around us to help give to Alex's family to help cover funeral costs, medical bills occurred in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, lost wages, mental health advances, and finally, the ability to continue to raise awareness for mental health within the youth in our community.
