Alex Gordon's Eagle Scout Project

Hi, my name is Alex Gordon. I am a Boy Scout in Troop 750, in Carlsbad California, and I am raising money for my Eagle Scout project. 

While on a 14 day backing trip in New Mexico I was involved in a life saving effort that might have turned out differently had we had prompt access to an AED or Automatic External Defibrillator. 

For my Eagle project I have decided to do my part to increase awareness about and access to AEDs in the community. Part of my project is to raise funds to purchase at least one (hopefully more than one) AED to be placed within my community. The cost for a quality AED is approximately $1,300. 

I have partnered with San Diego Project Heart Beat whose mission is to save lives by establishing awareness, education and immediate access to Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) throughout the city and county of San Diego. San Diego Project Heart Beat's objective is to make Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) as accessible as fire extinguishers throughout our community.

All proceeds raised through my Eagle project will be donated to the San Diego Project Heart Beat Fund at the San Diego Foundation.
