Alex Naranjo Medical Support Fund

On February 21st, 2022, Alex Naranjo started to feel unwell as he was getting ready for work at local restaurant Fresno. He began to get dizzy, nauseous, had cold sweats and chills along with a severe headache. As his mom and sister drove him to the hospital, he became unresponsive and paramedics were immediately called. He was then airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he underwent emergency brain surgery. Surgeons later explained that Alex had suffered a sudden and unexpected left sided subdural hematoma along with multiple strokes. His procedures included an incision covering his entire left side of his head and the removal of a large portion of his skull. 

 

The brain bleed and strokes have significantly affected his movement, motor skills, speech, and memory. Alex will have a lengthy recovery along with continued follow up medical care which includes appointments with neurology, neurosurgery, and vascular surgery to name a few.

 

He will continue to stay in the hospital until he is physically stronger, then head to a rehabilitation facility, where he will receive physical therapy and occupational therapy. We expect these costs to exceed his health insurance benefits. Alex is loved by the many who know him. His family and friends have been by his side everyday since this accident occurred, and will continue to be there for him throughout his healing process.
