Alex needs a new wheelchair from Guatemala

Tax deductible

My name is Alexander Chiti and I am 41 years old. I am from Guatemala and I had a normal life, working to support my family. However, 12 years ago, I fell victim to a stray bullet that caused damage to my spinal cord, leaving me with a condition called paraplegia, which refers to the paralysis of my legs. This radically changed my life.

I had to begin a long process of therapy, rehabilitation, and ongoing treatments to keep going, but this time from a wheelchair, a stage I was not accustomed to. Nowadays, I continue to move forward by giving motivational talks to young people who, like me, have suffered spinal cord injuries, accidents, or illnesses and who, for some reason, are demotivated, confined to their homes. I bring them a message of encouragement.

Currently, due to the long journeys I make weekly, my wheelchair has deteriorated and broken over the years. That's why I'm making this request to raise funds and thus be able to buy a new wheelchair to continue my work with the communities farthest from my city.

I thank the Caly Ayuda foundation for following up on my request and helping me obtain a new wheelchair.
