Alex Piercy age 26 battling a very rare cancer

Hello, My name is Jeannie and I am raising funds for my 26 year old cousin Alex Piercy to help with medical expenses while he battles a very rare rectal cancer secondary to FAP (familial adenomatous polyposis). This time last yeah he recieved his diagnosis and it has been a whirlwind since. In November he had a total proctocolectomy and has had complication after complication since. He has been off of chemo presurgery since September and has yet to restart it due to his current health status. He had undergone several rounds of blood transfusions, and hemodialysis due to the infection snd his kidneys failing. Luckily he hasn't needed these again since the beginning of December. He still has a Bowel obstruction (blockage) and his white blood count is still low. Due to his current condition he is unable to restart chemo at this time. Our hope is for him to get well enough to be able to undergo chemo again. With the constant testing, hospitalizations, the need for further treatment, along with the start of the new year he will be facing the challenges of continued hospital bills and uncertainty with insurance since he has been unable to work. We want his focus to remain on fighting this nasty beast of a disease and not on upcoming financial hardships or uncertainty since there is enough of that already. He truly doesn't deserve this hand he has been dealt and through it all has remained strong and with a smile on his face. He is one of the good ones, truly one of the best and deserves the absolute best chance we could give him. I know and understand that it is the holiday season and times are tough for most right now. Alex is currently in the hospital and has been since Thanksgiving. He will unfortunately spend Christmas in there as well and will then go to an intensive rehab. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
