Alex Shirley Scholarship
Donation protected
It's impossible to make sense of the events on February 17th that stole Alex from us far too soon in his young life. His bubbly personality lit up the room when he walked in. He was the kind of friend you never knew that you needed but always wanted. His love and laughter were contagious. He always sought to see the good in people no matter the hand they were dealt. He was so many different things to people; a friend, protector, therapist, a cherished brother, son, grandson, nephew, cousin, neighbor...and to so many in this world - a beloved and loyal friend. He was never selfish with the gift of his friendship and had the unique ability to connect with literally everyone, always offering a ready smile when he walked in any room. His love and commitment to supporting others was at the heart and soul of his very being. Without exception, all those who knew him agree that it's his generous spirit and his unwavering dedication to helping anyone he could that will forever remain his legacy.
Alex touched so many people in his far too short time here with us, and there is no doubt he would want nothing more than to continue to do so with the same sincerity while watching over us all from above. Anyone who knew Alex, knows how important helping people overcome addiction was to him. Therefore, to honor Alex Shirley's life, we are accepting donations for a scholarship foundation created in his name, specifically designed to provide financial assistance and scholarships so those who need help with overcoming addiction can attend a rehab program.
In lieu of flowers, the family would love support in getting Alex's scholarship foundation started for those needing rehab. Please make donations here. If you would rather send a check or use Venmo, cash app, Zelle, etc., just message me.
If you have any questions about the scholarship or the arrangements, you may reach out to me.
