Alex's Journey to Facebook HQ

Donation protected
The First Lady’s Reach Higher campaign reached out to College Forward to invite a hardworking student to the Facebook Headquarters in California. I’m Alexander Molina, a Texas State University Student who was chosen by Executive Director Austin Buchan to attend this 3-hour hackathon. I’ll team up with Facebook engineers, designers, product managers, researchers, and data scientists, along with teachers and students across the nation to design solutions that drive college graduation rates nationwide. This is MAJOR! I’m here to represent CoFo’s 6,000 students and, ultimately, the students oftomorrow.

For each person attending, the costs are $1,000. That’s pretty steep for a freshman college student. I need your help.

I am very passionate about helping Latino students. Coming from a family of immigrants, I understand what the struggle is really like. I’ve lived my entire life in Kyle, Texas. This is my chance to gain the tools, experience, and connections I need to pursue my goal of helping my people.

Please help fund Austin and I, as we personally fund our way to The First Lady’s Initiative at the Facebook Headquarters in Menlo Park, California.

We need to hit our fundraising goal of $2000 by Wednesday, April 6th! We have about a week to raise the money. It’s seriously one of the most exciting events of my life!!

Thank you, thank you for your support!
