Alex and Curtis Defeat Harvey
Donation protected
On the 26th of August, the Ruiz Family was told to evacuate their home due to Hurricane Harvey. Miranda and Justin Ruiz were living in Cuero, Texas, with 3 children under the age of 15 (Danyelle 15, Gabbie 4, and Hayden 2). After the horrific storm subsided, the Ruiz family was able to return to their home. However, their home did not look like they had left it, quite frankly they didn’t return to a home at all. They were greeted, by Harvey, with devastation and loss. Loss of their home, loss of their possessions and most significantly loss of hope. The worst part about this story is, they were not alone. Many families lost everything, unfortunately, some lost loved ones.
We have made contact with Miranda and her family and will be meeting/making contact with them along with any other families we are made aware of. Our trip will be focused on bringing the hope back to these families. While we cannot replace their all of their possessions they previously had, we CAN offer them a rock to lean on, a shoulder to cry on, or a friend to laugh with again. We will be traveling down to Texas with a cargo van full of supplies, ranging from diapers, toiletries, water, clothes, and anything else that will help make their recovery just a little bit easier. Any donations in excess amount of the supplies will be donated to Samaritan’s Purse. Samaritan’s Purse is a non-profit Christian organization that is focused to help spiritually and physically to those in need. We will spend time working with Samaritan's Purse for 3 days in Victoria, Texas removing debris, rebuilding the neighborhoods, and restoring hope to the families that may be in need of inspiration.

Your donations will be used for renting a cargo van to make it down to Texas, supplies that will be distributed to families who lost everything, and the support that will be given to these people. They are fighting every day to stay positive and regain hope. Our goal isn’t to provide them with everything they lost, but to show them there is hope and they are supported from around the country. We don’t want recognition, we don’t want you to feel obligated, but we want to give you an opportunity to help serve these people through us. But even a $5 donation could allow the Ruiz family to drink clean water for another week. If you know of any additional families that may be in need, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
Our Goal, our purpose for this mission is to raise $2,500, with which we will fill the van with supplies that Texans NEED to help rebuild, physically and emotionally. We are departing on the 13th of October and returning on the 19th. This only leaves us with less than 20 days to raise as much possible!
This is an act of solace. This is a time to set aside any discrepancies we may be having. This is a time for us to unite as a community to serve and support those who lost everything and are in a great time of need. We ask that you donate any amount that you can, if that donation is a share, SMASH that share button! This is an opportunity to serve others, it’s our call of duty.
In love and service,
Alex Pier
