Alexander City Celebrate Freedom 2024

In 2005, Marshall Street Church began an outreach to our surrounding communities on July 3rd of every year to celebrate God and Country. Our first celebrate freedom was a simple parking lot event at our church where we invited people on our street to come and celebrate with us. Our stage was a flatbed trailer and our singers were those in our church! Our fireworks were shot by "professionals in the church" at the BRHS parking lot. We had a great time of food and fellowship on those hot, sticky July evenings. None of us could possibly imagine the growth that would follow!

Fast forward to today, the Alexander City Celebrate Freedom event has turned into Alex City's largest event! The event over the years took many forms and had to be moved to the BRHS band practice field to host the 1000's in attendance. The fireworks were also moved from the parking lot to the upper baseball practice fields and they are truly shot by "professionals". We've also moved on from a flatbed trailer to hiring a professional lighting and sound crew that handles all of our staging and sound! And the singing.... well let's talk about that! We've had a host of wonderful groups like Michael English, The Nelons, Josh Wilson, Seventh Time Down, Finding Favour, Sidewalk Prophets, Sanctus Real, I Am They, Jason Crabb, and Colton Dixon! Finally, the event is now ran by our local 501C non profit organization called Alabama CrossRoad Events! This organization was created so we could bring in even more Christian artist and events to the Alex City area.

The best part of our event each year is it's free! We have so many local sponsors that have supported this event over the last 20 years and they continue to sponsor it each year. For this year, we are trying something different. We are always asked by individuals on how they could contribute and we came up with the idea of starting a gofundme as a means to do that. Just like everything else, the cost to run such an event has gone up substantially each year. As wonderful as our sponsors have been, the cost keep going up which means the more fundraising we have to do. We'd love for a major sponsor to step up and sponsor this event but until that happens, we remain at the mercy of our local sponsors and individuals that would like to contribute.

Our goal for Celebrate Freedom is simple: help spread the good news about Jesus Christ through Christian Music! We have had several stories of people getting saved due to our event and we would love to continue God's works. Would you help us continue this journey and help support our event?
