For your consideration, in our time of grief
Donation protected
On September 28th, 2023, we suddenly and unexpectedly lost our dear mom and Nana, Sheryl Yancy. We are heartbroken and trying to figure out how to move forward without the wonderful woman who loved us for our whole lives. Emotionally, we are struggling, but we are a close family and will lean on each other and heal over time.
It is difficult to think about practical matters right now, but we find it is necessary. Practically, the challenges this poses for our youngest sister, Cali, are immense. Mom and Cali have lived together for years, with Nana helping to raise Rowan (age 10) since his birth. She has essentially been his other parent throughout his life. Not only have they lost a dearly loved family member, but they've also lost her income. Cali and her new husband Tim have limited bereavement leave, so they're each faced with unpaid time off from their jobs as CNAs. They are both HARD workers who spend their days caring for hospice patients. Now that they're experiencing significant grief and hardship of their own, they find themselves to be the ones in need of care from their community. Any amount you can donate would be immensely appreciated! All donations received will go to their household expenses, with the goal of keeping Cali, Tim, and Rowan in their same home for at least 6 months while they figure out their next steps.
We thank you for all of your donations, kind thoughts, and prayers!
Sincerely,
Christi, Cassie, and Cali
PS - A memorial service is being planned for our mom. The details will be provided here once finalized.
