Alexa Nichols' Medical Expense Fund
Donation protected

Alexa, a dear friend and family member needs our help.
As many of you know, Alexa was the victim of a head on collision during morning traffic on her way to class on Sept 4, 2014. This tragic accident has significantly changed the course of her life forever. Her spinal cord was severely damaged in the crash leaving her paralyzed from the neck down - Alexa now has a long road to recovery.
Although the prognosis for her to regain the ability to move her arms and legs is not clear, it’s our turn to give back to such a selfless young lady. The cost for Alexa’s emergent medical care is covered by insurance, however there are many additional costs growing for the family which include a specialty van and many home modifications which will be necessary before Alexa can return home.
The Nichols family has received an overwhelming response from all of their friends and extended family and appreciate the love and support they’ve received. Alexa and her parents are hopeful, positive, and committed to this new fight; they are taking this challenge in stride with their can-do attitude and the resilience that will be crucial on her road to recovery.
Alexa, a graduate from Smithson Valley High School, is currently enrolled at UTSA. She has been taking 18+ credit hours per semester, double majoring in English & Voice, and continuing her amazing Opera performances in the school’s Lyric Theater program. She is a very accomplished rider where she has collected numerous awards and accolades from Horse Shows and Competitions here in the United States and in Canada. A passionate animal lover, she recently rescued and helped fund the care of two dogs who needed to be spayed/neutered before they could be placed for adoption. She is a volunteer at her local church all while maintaining two steady jobs to help support her way through college.
Any donation is greatly appreciated and no amount is too little. Please help pass this message along by sharing this with your friends and family on social media and let's help Alexa receive the care she needs to get back to her feet.
Thank you all!
