Alexa's Marathon to Support Alzheimer's Research
Tax deductible
I will be running my first marathon on August 24th to raise money in support of Alzheimer's Research, a cause that is close to my heart. My maternal grandmother, Diane Aeschliman, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease when I was nine. My paternal grandmother, Virginia (Gigi) Burton passed away of the same condition when I was only two, and the few memories I still have of her did not prepare me for the memory-loss process which lay ahead of my maternal grandmother. Over the past seven years, I've watched her forget her memories, passions, and family, losing the things that made her who she was.
Over the years, I've spent a lot of time in my grandmother's memory care facility. After every visit, I'm more inspired to support the search for a cure. If you're able and willing, please consider donating; no amount is too small! All proceeds go to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund and directly to researchers around the globe.
