Wish Alexis Good Luck on Miss Teen Vermont!

Hi,

Alexis is competing in the Miss Teen Vermont contest as Miss Chittenden County Teen. She has been working on a Community Service Initiative to spread awareness of congenital heart disease. As some of you may know, Alexis is an active multi sport athlete, who was diagnosed with Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome last year and had surgery, where we found out that she had been at risk for an SCA. She is doing great now! She has been working with Vermont high schools to spread information about heart conditions, which often go undiagnosed in youth. She is advocating for emergency cardiac plans in schools, including pediatric risk assessments. She felt that Miss Vermont was a great platform to get this message out.

One of MVSOs initiatives is to have the contestants sell advertisements for their program, which create college scholarships for these young ladies. These advertisements will be placed in the brochure that is given at the competition to the audience. In the advertisement will be Alexis’s photo and anyone who donates can have their name listed wishing her good luck… or they can remain anonymous. The contestants do not keep any of th donations. Anything helps! Also, if you can share this, it would be great as well. Thank you!
