Hola a todos, soy Alexis! Como muchos de ustedes saben, he tenido tantas cirugías (34) desde que nací para reconstruir mi lado derecho que no estaba completamente desarrollado. Crecí con tantas esperanzas y sueños. Incluso después de tantas cirugías, pude trabajar y ser independiente. Tenía mi propio coche y apartamento, y ya había terminado con mi reconstrucción facial.

Desafortunadamente, después de estar en una relación abusiva, rompí con mi ex novio y lo eche de mi apartamento. Debido a eso destruyó mi cara, fracturándome la mandíbula, la nariz, las cuencas de los ojos, mi cráneo, la espalda, los dientes, etc. Él demolió todo lo que se reconstruyó toda mi vida y más. La peor parte es que dañó mi vista. Ya no puedo trabajar ni conducir (ser completamente independiente). ¡Perdí mi coche, mi trabajo, mi apartamento, TODO!

Ha sido muy difícil económicamente mantener mis necesidades y mis cosas médicas. Usaré este dinero para cualquier cosa que mi seguro no cubra (como muchas cirugías faciales/dentales). Además, conseguiré mis gafas que he estado necesitando pero que no he podido pagar, mis gotas para los ojos que necesito por el resto de mi vida. Y otras cosas médicas, así como mis necesidades diarias como productos de higiene. Mi familia ha sido increíble, tratando de proporcionar todo lo que pueden. Sin embargo, mi padre es el único que trabaja y no puede solo, por lo mismo que ya ah sido más de un año sin yo poder trabajar y valerme por mi misma. Espero que algún día pueda trabajar y ser independiente de nuevo... ¡Espero que mi historia te haya inspirado a seguir adelante en la vida!

Hi everyone, I am Alexis!!! As many of you know, I've had so many surgeries (34) since birth to reconstruct my right side that wasn't fully developed. I grew up with so many hopes and dreams. Even after so many surgeries, I was able to work and be independent. I had my own car and apartment, and I was already finished with my face reconstruction.

Unfortunately, after being in an abusive relationship. I broke up with my ex-boyfriend and kicked him out of my apartment. So he destroyed my face, fracturing my jaw, nose, eye sockets, skull, back, teeth, etc. He demolished everything that was reconstructed my whole life plus more. The worst part is he damaged my vision. I can't work or drive (be fully independent) anymore. I lost my car, my job, my apartment, EVERYTHING!

It's been really hard economically to maintain my needs and my medical stuff. I will be using this money for whatever my insurance doesn't cover (like a lot of facial/dental surgeries). Also, I will be getting my glasses that I have been needing but haven't been able to pay for, my eye drops that I need for life, and other medical stuff, as well as my everyday needs like hygiene products. My family has been amazing, trying to provide as much as they can. After not being able to work for more than a year it’s only getting harder. However, my dad is the only one who works and can only do so much. Hopefully, one day I am able to work and be independent again… I hope my story has inspired you to keep going in life!!!
