Alex’s Battle against Ovarian Cancer

In 2020, my sister-in-law Alex was originally diagnosed and treated for Ovarian Cancer. Sadly, this June, Alex and my sister Chelsea found out the devastating news about her recurrence just days before Alex returned from maternity leave, after giving birth to their beautiful son Lucas in February. The 30 year old couple learned Alex will began her fight in July with chemotherapy to combat the disease in her lymph nodes and lungs, which she’ll continue for 4-6 months. Since exhausting all PFL/FMLA benefits, Alex is unable to maintain her employment due to her physical condition. Unfortunately, through the unpredictability and complications of cancer and treatment, Chelsea has also been unable to work as she originally planned to do so while caring for their son. Chelsea continues to support Alex and Lucas as their sole caregiver during this unimaginable time for the new family. Any support, thoughts, and prayers are appreciated to help Alex, Chelsea, and Lucas get through this difficult time.
