Alex’s Eagle Scout Project: Disc Golf at Faith Haven Camp

I’m Alex and I’m a boy scout in troop 167 in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. I’ve been in boy scouts for four years. The past few months, I’ve been working toward earning my Eagle Scout rank. My Eagle Scout project is installing a disc golf course at Faith Haven Camp on Eagle Lake in Battle Lake Minnesota. I’ve attended church camp there since I was in 4th grade. Faith Haven Camp and Eagle Lake are special places to me and many others in the community. Scott and Lisa Larsen have been the caretakers for several years and have received a donation of disc golf baskets and basket stands from the Eagle Lake Lakeshore Association (ELLA). My goal is to install the disc golf baskets and signage for the local community and Faith Haven Camp attendees to use starting this spring. I’m fundraising $1,500 to cover the cost of materials: class-5 gravel, concrete, wood signposts, metal signs and other supplies necessary to properly install the disc golf course. Once my fundraising goal has been reached, any excess funds will be given to Faith Haven Camp and the ELLA for maintenance, repairs, and enhancements to the disc golf course over the years.
