Thank you for viewing my GoFundMe page. I am raising funds to build a Gold Star Memorial at Acacia Park in Henderson, Nevada. Gold Star families are those that have lost a family member while on active duty in the United States Armed Forces.
Nevada has a long and proud history of serving our nation and it is my goal to build a memorial to honor those families that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. This aligns with my volunteerism over the last four years with Blue Star Mothers NV4, and I need to complete it before I turn 18 and head off to serve in the Nevada Air National Guard,
My project consists of a 12-foot concrete star outline, filled with desert rock and landscaping, with an official Gold Star Memorial monument in the center. The project includes a nice bench from which to contemplate the memorial. The monument is $1600 and the bench is $1400. I plan to ask local business to donate materials and labor to cover the costs of the concrete and desert rock and landscaping.
Any person or business who donates $100 or more will have their name added to a plaque at the project. Any funds in excess of what is needed will be used to honor veterans and the various organizations that assist them.
