Alex's Fundraiser for Leeds Hyde Park FC
I'm fundraising for a local charity football club based in Hyde Park, Leeds.
The club was created in 2017 by Adel Chermiti to give local children the opportunities to play sports. Since then, the club has grown tremendously. It now has multiple boys teams (ages ranging from 5-15), more than 4 men's teams and a women's team, all the teams train reguarly throughout the week and play tournament or league games on Sundays.
The club wants to expand further and create more of a togetherness in the community by getting more people to play football and even introducing other sports. However they need more funding in order to this. By donating money you can really help Leeds Hyde Park FC achieve this goal. The money would go toward lots of different projects, and even help the club invest in junior team football kits, improve the facilities and run events such as sports days or quizzes.
To raise funds for the club I am going to do a running challenge. For every £25 that is raised I will run one mile on Saturday 5th June. So, if we manage to hit the £750 target (then yes, I will be running 30 miles) that would be incredible. But at this point, any donation (even £1) goes a long way to get as many people involved in playing sports.
Please have a look at the website (https://leedshydeparkfc.co.uk/) and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/leedshydeparkfc/) to see brilliant work that this charity does.
After the difficult year we've all had, it will be amazing to get people back outside, keeping fit and socialising, and create a real community environment again.
