Alex's London Marathon 2025 for Crohn's & Colitis UK
Hi, I'm Alex and I'm running the London Marathon on April 27th, 2025 for Crohn's & Colitis UK.
I'm aiming to raise £2,500 to help a severely underfunded and worthy cause.
Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a chronic autoimmune illness that has no known origin, and no known cure. Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are perhaps the most commonly known iterations, yet the illness continues to affect over 500,000 (1 in 123) people in the UK.
This cause is close to my heart because of Dan, who has suffered with IBD since he was just four years old. He has been through years of painstaking treatment, an invasive initial diagnosis, tens of rounds of different drugs, and years of symptoms that have no known cure.
IBD is a lifelong illness - it does not discriminate, and it does not warn.
Therefore, I'm running the 2025 TCS London Marathon to raise as much money as possible and fight inflammatory bowel disease together.
Crohn's & Colitis UK is the UK’s leading charity in the battle against Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. They have been a great help to Dan throughout his life and desperately need more funds to continue the work that they do.
Please give whatever you can - and to find out more, visit the C&C UK Website.
