Alexys' 2nd Kidney Transplant
Donation protected
Hello
This is my Wife Alexys, she is the most amazing and strongest person I know. You would have never guessed that she has had a kidney transplant and is about to have her second...We recently got married and couldnt be more excited to start our adventure together! After the past almost 8 months of back to back kidney infections, which ended her up in the hospital once every two months, the kidney was too damaged to go back to normal. She then was diagnosed with kidney failure for the second time. Surprisingly this all started with a simple strep throat infection almost 15 years ago that traveled down and killed off her kidneys, but was blessed after 4 months of dialysis to recieve a kidney from her father at just 11 years old. She has had to since give up her position as an Emergency Room Technician since she does not have the strength to do what she loves which is helping people in the same position as herself. We had a honeyfund saved up for our trip to Mexico but just 3 days before our wedding she was hospitalized and the doctors told us to not go on our honeymoon because Alexys was too senstive to be traveling and needed to stay close to her hospital. We have since had to dip into our honeyfund to help pay for some things since Alexys is not working, but hopefully once she recieves the transplant we are off to a nice tropical vacation to celebrate our marriage!
Just so you know where and what your contributions would be going towards, her endless lab visits to check on the status of the kidney, EPO shots twice a week for her anemia, prescription after prescription and of course the unexpected visits to the ER. It will also help with pre and post transplant expenses that may come our way. Health insurance is great, but theres alot that insurance will not cover.
Any amount of contribution helps elleviate the amount of stress this puts us through. Please dont feel obligated to donate, but please continue to keep this message going for others to see and hopefully help out.
Thank you for reading our story
