Aleya Warrior Princess

On January 9th 2017 my 6 year old daughter Aleya Moehring finally got an MRI after me begging doctors, therapists, and emergency rooms. Aleya had agonizing neck and back pain for over a year. Her neck was stuck in a forward tilt. The MRI revealed a rare form of a brain tumor lodged inside of her spinal cord. From the 4th cervical vertebrae to the 8th thoracic vertebrae. Only 100-200 children in the WORLD have been diagnosed with this form of cancer.
After the MRI, she was rushed into emergency surgery. The prognosis was grim as Aleya had suffered total paralysis of her limbs. Her neurosurgeon is a miracle worker. He was able to remove more of the tumor than he even thought. But there is still residual left.
After surgery he explained the expectation for Aleyas Neurological ability. We were informed that we would be lucky to eventually get her to the place she was when she went into surgery. By the grace of God and her being the amazing, remarkable, Miracle, soldier girl that she is; She came out of surgery moving her fingers, toes, and talking.
Two days after surgery she caught double pneumonia and experienced respiratory failure. She was placed on a bipap machine for about 2 weeks. She is still in ICU but doing better than anyone could have ever expected.
The biggest impact emotionally for Aleya is missing school. She is a student at Crystal River Primary in Crystal River Florida. She also attended the YMCA after school program. Aleya absolutely loves school. She thrived socially and academically. We hope to get her back to school very soon.
Our next step after recovery from surgery, is relocating to Jacksonville Florida for at least 4 weeks of intensive rehab and physical therapy. I am a single mother. Aleya is my only child. She is my whole life.
We would appreciate any kind of help wether a donation or a prayer. It is going to be a long road to recovery. With rehab, chemotherapy, radiation and what ever else the journey to recovery might throw at us. Keeping Aleya's spirits high during her recovery is a big priority. Aleya will continue to fight. It is all she knows. She is my hero.
