Hi, I’m Paula, Alfonso’s wife of 40 years.
You know, I was told, one of the most difficult things you can do in life, is to ask for help.
On December 12, 2022, while Alfonso was having a triple bypass he suffered a severe stroke, his body shut down completely. He was placed on life support. The stroke affected every part of his being.
Alfonso, having a strong faith, never gave up. He, being left bedridden, fought and continues to fight everyday.
Alfonso is a proud man who has given to and for others his entire life. He had been extremely active and involved in his community, (which he loves). Alfonso previously served in the position of Paulsboro Fire Chief, Paulsboro Emergency Management Coordinator, Paulsboro Councilman, Past President of Carmel S Morina Lodge 2580, Past President of Sportsman Club and other organizations throughout the County of Gloucester.
Alfonso’s condition has left us, requiring to make many changes. Currently, if in his hospital bed or wheelchair he is restricted to the living room.
Our home, currently is not handicap compatible or accessible. Doorways have to be widened, bathroom has to be reconfigured, changes have to be made between the dining room and kitchen and access to exit the back door.
We too, are in need of a vehicle that has been modified to accommodate Alfonso and his wheelchair. He requires transportation to and from appointments. Alfonso always enjoyed taking a drive through town, making sure everything was okay. He can’t wait to do this again.
So…. being the most difficult thing I
have to ask of you, is for help.
Please help us achieve our goals.
Thank you.
