Alford Eagle Scout Project: American Legion Repair

As part of achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, we are required to select a community service project.  Once selected we must plan, organize and complete it to the best of our ability.  

I have chosen the American Legion Post 826 of Woodland Hills, CA.  They need help cleaning up the property surrounding the Post.  

They specifically need help with the removal of a great deal of vegetation overgrowth that has accumulated for many years.  Not only does the weight of the overgrowth threaten to topple their fence around the Post, it also provides a hiding place for mischief to take place.  Clean up will not only save the fence, it will open up the area and put an end to the mischief that is taking place.

We will also clean and repaint the wrought iron fence as well as refresh the mulch along the perimeter of the parking lot and courtyard. 

The funds donated will pay for needed equipment, tools, paint, mulch, dump truck rental and disposal of waste.

Any left over funds we raise will be given directly to the American Legion Post for other projects they plan to do.

When a need is identified, someone needs to answer the call.  These Veterans answered the call for our Country.  As a Boy Scout, we are called to answer the needs of our Community.
