Alfredo Colón Debut Album

Hi! My name is Alfredo Colón and I'm a saxophonist and composer from New York City.

I'm raising funds to record and release my debut album as a bandleader. I'm currently able to cover the cost of studio time and paying my band, but unfortunately releasing a record involves so much more. My initial goal would allow me to pay for mixing and mastering and hiring a publicist.

This record will feature me on alto saxophone, Lex Korten on piano, Steve Williams on bass and Connor Parks on drums. We are set to record in late April at Figure 8 Studio in Brooklyn.

This album will be an exploration of my Dominican heritage. It is culturally rooted in my family’s migration to the United States, with all of the complexities the move entailed and continues to produce. It is inspired by the country’s rich folklore and many of the characters surrounding it.

I've been fortunate enough to share my music with live audiences for about 5 years now. I have dreamed of creating an album for just as long but have not felt ready until now. With your help, I can make this dream a reality. I am so grateful for all who have been supportive along this journey.
