Alice Minter's Funeral Costs

Alice and I got married ten years ago tomorrow. These have been ten fantastic years that I had the privilege of her being a part of my life. We met at a Maryland vs Hopkins lacrosse game. She was a Hopkins fan and me a Maryland fan (Hopkins won). About three years later we were married. She was an amazingly intelligent, talented and creative individual and the most beautiful woman I have ever met. 

On Saturday, after years of battling and overcoming various sicknesses, she suddenly left us and went into a better life. Nigel (our puppy) and I are devastated for our loss but we know she is free and her love is still with us. Those of you who have met her know how incredible she was. She would give her last dollar to someone she did not even know if she saw they were in need. She spoke to everyone and understood them at an emotional level that I will always miss. 

I cannot end my story without mentioning her humor -- spontaneous musings, usually dark, insane, and sometimes irreverent -- was always at just the right moment. She kept me laughing with goofy things she said or making up lyrics to songs or just telling stories of her amazing, cosmopolitan life. She truly embodied Alice in Wonderland with her approach to life.

The money is being collected to help me with funeral costs. As she has been a student the last year, she does not have life insurance so the cost is on me. Due to her health issues, I do not have much for savings so I am asking for just enough to cover the costs.

Money is not the most important thing; your prayers and love are what will carry me through.
