Alice Ward RJAH hospital

Hi everyone,

As you all may know - our son Noah received a life changing operation in January 2025 in Oswestry/Gobowen hospital (Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt hospital) which is a specialist spinal & orthopaedic hospital.

Noah was born with a rare congential condition called Fibular Hemimelia a condition found 1 in 40,000. He recieved his lower limb amputation January 2025 at the age of 16 months old.

Alice Ward - RJAH Were incredible from start to finish, from the welcome the the day of discharge they couldn’t do more for us as a family. We soon became aware that all their toys, balls, games, arts&crafts along with all other activities they have for the children on the ward are all donation funded, every single thing on Alice ward from the pens, paint & board games all the way down to TV’s, iPads and computers are all donation based.

I (Graham) am eager to raise as much money as physically possible for Alice ward, as a thanks for helping us and guide us through what could of been a very tough, exhausting & emotional time for us as a family, with their support and help our 3 day stay on Alice Ward was fun, welcoming, comforting & all round a positive experience for not only us as Noah parents, but for his grandmothers who visited and especially Noah himself.

So down to it!

My aim is to do a sponsored swim, with a home grown dad bod!

My intention is to swim Benllech to Moelfre in the freezing cold, strong current sea. Sounds fun eh! But it’s for a great cause, we want to raise as much money possible for such a worthy ward, they really do deserve it and I’d be unbelievably grateful for any donation big or small to fund some new items for the children who may have an extensive, intense, long stay with a long road to recovery and heightened emotions during their hospital stay.

Any donation will be appreciated and we will hopefully raise enough money to get some amazing gifts for the ward as a massive thankyou!!
