We are reaching out to family and friends with heavy hearts as our beloved grandma, mother, sister, friend, a pillar of strength in our family, is facing the toughest battle of her life against stage 4 ovarian cancer.

About three years ago, she was diagnosed with this relentless disease shortly after being laid off from work because of COVID-19. Despite her unwavering spirit, the journey has been heavy. Living on an income of $2400 per month, primarily through Medicaid, has been increasingly challenging as medical bills continue to accumulate. Our family has exhausted all available resources to help ease the financial burden, but now we find ourselves in need of additional support.

Throughout this journey, Alicia has faced countless setbacks. A lung port, meant to alleviate fluid from her lungs, led to a severe infection that nearly took her life away this last September. Although she bravely fought back, the infection cost her 40% of her lung capacity, making each breath a struggle. Forced to pause chemotherapy during her recovery, the cancer became more aggressive. Despite her resilient efforts, her health has further declined. Weekly draining of abdominal fluid has become a painful routine, and recent hospitalization due to difficulty breathing has brought us face to face with the harsh reality and terrified that time may be running out.

We are now at a crucial time where the financial strain on our family has reached its peak. Basic needs, medical bills, and day-to-day living expenses have become overwhelming. Every month is a new challenge, and witnessing our strong grandma endure so much pain is heart-wrenching. Alicia is not just a patient; she is a beacon of selflessness, strength, and love. Her kindness has touched countless lives, and now she needs our collective support.
