Alicia is in hospital

I'm Colleen and my daughter Alicia has been in the hospital since 5/14/23, and I have been with her the entire time. This means I have not been working, which makes our financial situation very difficult. The funds will be used to pay our July rent & bills. My daughter has chylothorax, we don't know what caused this. We thought she was going to be discharged soon however the fluid pocket doubled in size from 2 days ago and we aren't sure what is going to happen now. Even when Alicia is discharged there will be many appointments to attend. Any financial assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

We were informed that Alicia and I will be going to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for further treatment. They are the experts in chylothorax and have developed tests that can only be done there. The hospital case manager is working on the arrangements.

Alicia had another chest tube replacement (4th one) on 6/21. Fluid is draining again. She is on a wait list to be sent to CHOP. Unsure when we will receive the call saying it's time to go. At this time she has been discharged from HDVCH, and enjoying our time at home with family. It sure is great to have my triplets together again. Thank goodness for my Medical Assistant background that I know how to administer medications by injection 2x daily, flush her chest tube 3x daily, monitor low fat diet (10g fat daily), protein and calorie counts, BP & HR 2-3x daily. The team of doctors, surgeons, nurses, and assistance, at HDVCH have been amazing in the care they gave to Alicia. We await our adventure to CHOP for more amazing care. Please continue prayers for Alicia. Pray for our upcoming travels. Pray for all doctors involved.
