Help Alicia return to the line.

This morning Alicia reached out to me asking for help from a hospital bed at St. Al’s Boise. I have known Alicia since 2016. We both started as part-time employees for the Kuna Fire District. I hope to receive support from the greater Fire/EMS community to help a fellow 1st responder in need. Alicia has been through more pain and loss in her 29 years than anyone should have.
Alicia is a former FF/AEMT with the Kuna Fire District serving the community as a dedicated part-time employee, pulling countless shifts on the District's Ambulance while completing college to become a Paramedic.
Alicia has been battling serious health issues, requiring her to need over 300 units of transfused blood. Through all of that, she continued to serve her community in her new role as a paramedic with Canyon County Paramedics.
Alicia has been going through severe symptoms of Lupus, cancer requiring her to need a hysterectomy, autoimmune anemia syndrome and more recently, two spinal ischemic strokes resulting in paralysis from the waist down.
Unfortunately, due to these health issues, Alicia has been forced to leave the field as a paramedic. She has thousands of dollars of medical debt after insurance. Alicia must travel to Tulsa, OK and Portland, OR for continued treatments. She sold her car and personal property to make ends meet this far.
Despite all she has lost, Alicia has always remained positive. She is not one to ask for help unless absolutely needed. I’m hoping my friends and connections in the fire and EMS community can spread the word and bring in the funds to ease some of Alicia’s burdens that she has been packing for so long.
I look forward to the day she gets better and can return to the line.
