Alicia's Recovery & Bills

Donation protected

Hey everyone,
As many of you know, my cousin Alicia and her three boys were in a pretty gnarly wreck on the way to daycare/work Thursday morning, January 25th.
Thankfully the boys are okay and only suffered from a little bit of seatbelt rash!!
Alicia on the other hand, is in pretty rough shape. She broke both of her legs below her knees, has one exploded vertebrae, and a few that are fractured.
The first surgery for her legs is scheduled for today, Thursday, January 26th about 10:40am. At this time, they don't really have a plan for surgery for her back, but they sized her for a hard back brace.
As of right now, she will be laid up for roughly 8-12 weeks, but truly everything is kind of a waiting game to know definite answers moving forward. The surgical team was going to do more assessing and planning this morning to give more answers. She will continue to be in St. Cloud for awhile yet due to surgeries, she is hopeful to be moved closer to home at some point down the road when she can for recovery time.

The plan is to use this page to raise money as she will be off from work for an extended period of time due to healing. This also means she will need help with the boys, so Colter will need to remain home to help with the boys and to help care for her, too. This puts some significant financial stress on them. I will also be posting updates regarding surgeries and recovery, per Alicia's request. This helps limit the overload to her phone. Although, she really does appreciate all of the people reaching out!

Thankfully this was NOT the worst possible outcome. The boys are okay. Alicia may have broken bones and experienced the second worst thing to ever happen to her, by hearing her children scream for her and she was unable to help them, but it could have been way worse. We are just thankful for all of the supportive comments thus far, and for everyone who has reached out asking how to help!

If anyone wants to donate in other ways than GoFundMe, you can donate cash directly to her checking account by going to Mid-Central Federal Credit Union in Staples. If any other ways are needed, please reach out to me and we can discuss this.

If you're unable to donate, that is okay! Just sharing the post, sending positive vibes, and showing support is appreciated!!
