"The Aliis" Reunion Concert
Donation protected
The Aliis formed in 1961 as a musical group representing Hawaii in the U.S. Air Force. After serving our time while stationed at Bolling AFB in Washington D.C. the group joined Don Ho in 1964.
With the help of Thyra Abraham, Promotion Director, Frank Mcilquham director and Katherine Mcilquham administrator of non-profit "Rock Club" for Vets, we are planning to do a reunion concert with the Aliis. It has been 55 years since the groups inception and the subsequent splitting up in 1973 when Manny LaGod was the first original member to leave the group.
Monies donated will help defray travel expenses, hotel and transportation for the group to perform in the greater Los Angeles area.
Two Aliis, Ben Chong (guitar) and Al Akana (drums) live in Hawaii, 1 Joe Mundo (Piano) live's in the state of Washington, 1 Rudy Aquino (vibes & percussion) live's in Rarotonga in the south Pacific and Manny LaGod (bass) live in Southern California.
A portion of all proceeds after all expenses have been met will go to "Rock Club" Music is the Remedy. This is a 501C non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives and well being of Veterans, at risk youth and other groups through music instructions, education and mentoring.
