Ali's Mercy Flight/Medical Expenses

My name is Amanda Youngs, and I'd like to tell you about my bestfriend and her family's story.

Ali and Joey have been happily married for 5 years and they have a beautiful boy Cameron who is 4 and half. Ali and Joey were expecting their second child due January 22nd 2017. Ali's pregnancy was healthy and on track.

On December 4th 2016 Ali and Joey were having a normal morning, Ali was doing laundry and Joey playing with Cameron and his cousins. Ali started to experience extreme pain followed by significant bleeding. Joey and Ali proceeded to go to the hospital where they discovered that there was no heartbeat for the baby. Ali and Joey were clearly heartbroken with this news. At this point the doctors decided that a C-Section was the next course of action for Ali's health. During the C-Section, some complications started to rise and the doctors and nurses couldn't stop Ali's bleeding during her surgery. Her condition became so severe that she developed DIC syndrome which complicated her bleeding issues. The medical team decided it was in Ali's best interest that she be Mercy Flighted to a Rochester hospital that could better suit her medical needs.

Our prayers have been answered and Ali is recovering from her surgery, and her family continues to recover from a broken heart. Ali's health insurance plan at this time is not covering her Mercy Flight and they have many unexpected medical expenses. Funeral expenses have been taken care of by family and we just ask for help with medical expenses that are for family.
