Alisha’s Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
Many of you may already know the compassionate, funny, creative, strong, resourceful, resilient, brave, positively fierce woman that is Alisha Baker; however, most may be unaware of recent happenings within her life. As you read on, please consider helping her and her family through this challenging time as medical, and travel expenses have already begun to strain the family; thoughts, prayers, well wishes, and words of encouragement are appreciated beyond measure in helping them through this.
Alisha is an incredible mom to three exceptional children, who are her and her loving husband Chet’s pride and joy. Connor is 10, shares his mother's kind heart, and has a great thirst for knowledge. Darren is 5, the spitting image of his father, he is stubborn but sweet, loves to create, build, and get his hands dirty. Autumn is 4, just like her momma – she is strong and full of tenacity, sweet and fierce. As you can guess, Alisha is a very busy woman, raising her beautiful family in the life she and Chet have built for themselves in rural Pelkie, MI. Rarely does she have a thought that doesn’t involve them.
In early June 2022, everything for Alisha and her family began to change. Alisha’s doctor found a small abdominal hernia and was sent for scans; during these scans, the radiologist and general surgeon spotted an abnormality in her small intestine. Unfortunately, after extensive testing and surgery, it was determined to be neuroendocrine carcinoma and was found to have metastasized further throughout her abdomen. An immediate referral was made to the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center, where
Alisha met with her healthcare team at UofM on August 1st. After further testing, they did confirm the diagnosis of neuroendocrine carcinoma, with multiple metastases, classified as stage IV, with the recommended course of treatment being once monthly chemotherapy. This type of cancer is very rare, with only 2 out of 100,000 persons being diagnosed annually; however, cases have shown that this form of chemotherapy has been effective; Alisha, Chet, and the family remain hopeful.
Alisha is ready for the fight and feels stronger with her family and friends by her side. Your love and support mean more than words can express to their family; thank you for helping them through this challenging time.
