Alisha’s Medical Expenses

I just want to start off by saying that I’m normally the person starting benefits for other people and I absolutely feel unworthy of being on the other side. A friend of mine talked me into starting a gofundme because it’s time for my good karma to come back around. My friends obviously see more in me than I do, but I can’t let my little family to continue to struggle because of the financial burden of my current health issues.

Over the last couple of years I’ve had a plethora of health problems, including daily headaches and migraines that usually last from the time I wake up until the time Ingot to sleep. While trying to find the cause of what we thought was something unrelated to the headaches, the doctors discovered that I have chiari malformation and partially empty sella syndrome, which made the majority of all of my unexplainable health problems in life make sense.

Even though we try our hardest to keep up on paying medical bills as they come in, they’ve managed to accumulate to almost $10,000. To make it worse, I’ll have to have brain decompression surgery as soon as October along with a full spinal mri. For the surgery I’ll be in the hospital for up to a week with the first few days in the ICU. Afterwards I’ll need physical therapy 3x a week and won’t be able to return to work for 3-5 months and my husband will also have to take time off of work. I find it ironic that I live in the great country of the United States of America, yet thinking about my bills keeps me up at night, not the idea of brain surgery.

A little about me: My husband and I love farming, but have full time jobs away from the farm. I’m a preschool teacher and a mother of an amazing 2 year old little boy. I’ve bred and shown rabbits for roughly 27 years now, but unfortunately to my health issues, my numbers have drastically lowered. We have also had to sell off our dairy goat herd and most of our small cattle herd because of my health issues and never ending medical bills.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you. I appreciate each and every one of you. Even if all you can do is read my story and share it.
