Alison Shearer's Album Fundraiser

As you may know, I have spent the last two years pouring myself into the creation of my forthcoming album, View From Above.
This project was my guiding light throughout the pandemic. The album features my quartet: myself on alto saxophone; Kevin Bernstein on piano, rhodes, and synthesizers; Marty Kenny on electric bass; and Phil McNeal on drums and percussion. Special guests include trumpeter Wayne Tucker, cellist Susan Mandel, and vocalists Miranda Joan, Hattie Simon, Jonathan Hoard, Vuyo Sotashe and Chauncey Matthews. View From Above was recorded in March, 2021 at Pinch Recording in Long Island City, and in July I signed a distribution deal with the very cool record label Fresh Selects. Mixing was done by two-time Grammy award winning engineer, Fernando Lodeiro. To say I'm proud of what we created is an understatement - I'm beyond excited.
So far the production of this album has been almost entirely self-funded, and I've put over $12,000 into studio time, mixing, renting rehearsal spaces, compensating all of the musicians involved, among many other expenses. I had hoped to fund the entirety of this project myself, but after a 2 month tour I was scheduled to play this fall was cancelled because of Covid, it became clear I'd need to ask for some help. Thus, I've launched this fundraiser to help cover the remaining album expenses:
- a 3 month PR campaign to get the word out about this release
- finalizing the album artwork
- payment to our wonderful audio editor who prepped the tracks for mixing
- a very small run of physical CDs, which our publicist will need for press purposes
Join me on Saturday, November 20th @ 4:00pm at Studio 42 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn for a special fundraising concert featuring original music from my upcoming album. You'll be treated to a behind-the-scenes experience where you'll have a chance to see and hear my band perform in the unique setting of a recording studio.
Seating is very limited! Please reply promptly upon receiving an invitation to guarantee your seat.
