Sometimes, dreams demand everything from us—our time, our resources, and our resilience. Yet, they are what make life vibrant, meaningful, and worth pursuing. My name is Alison Assanah-Carroll, and I am a part-time writer with a full-time passion for storytelling. My dream is to bring my children's books to life, but the journey so far has been nothing short of an emotional rollercoaster.

Writing has always been my sanctuary, a place where I can pour my creativity, faith, and hope for a brighter future. After years of balancing the responsibilities of my day job with my love for crafting stories, I decided to take a leap. I sought a graphic artist to illustrate my books, someone who could help me transform the words on my pages into vibrant worlds for children to explore.

My first attempt led me to an international artist whose talent was as dazzling as his promises. His glowing reviews and breathtaking portfolio made him feel like the perfect fit. I trusted him completely, so much so that I stepped outside the safety of the platform we’d initially connected through to pay him. The results? Devastating. He vanished without a trace, taking my hard-earned money and my aspirations with him.

Determined not to give up, I tried again—this time closer to home. I enlisted a local comic artist, hoping that face-to-face collaboration would lead to success. But once again, I was left heartbroken as deadlines passed unmet and my trust was betrayed. The majority of my investment disappeared, along with my hope.

But this is not where my story ends. Despite the setbacks, I still believe in the power of my children's books to inspire, educate, and entertain. These stories are more than just words on a page—they are lessons, perspectives, and little sparks of joy waiting to brighten a child’s day. They are my gift to the world, but to bring them to life, I need your help.

This fundraiser is my third attempt—my “third time’s the charm”—to turn a dream deferred into a dream realized. Your support could be the turning point, the light that leads me through the dark. I know there are many causes out there, and the decision to help isn’t always easy. But I believe in the talent and vision God has given me.
