Aliyah's Fight Against Leukemia
Donation protected
On October 23, 2023 we received devastating news that the excruciating pain our Precious Aliyah had been experiencing were direct symptoms from Leukemia. (B-ALL) Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia had taken over her body right before our eyes.
What started out as Covid-19 and Pneumonia with fluid surrounding her lungs on October 9th turned out to be something way worse than we
could have ever imagined. After several trips back and forth to the emergency room due to chest, abdominal and back pain along with shortness of breath, she was admitted to the Pediatric ICU at Broward Health-Coral Springs.
On October 13th, Aliyah was discharged and we went home with a clean bill of health, or so we thought. On October 19, 2023 at 2200 hours, severe pain struck Aliyah's body once again. This time the pain started in her lower extremities, eventually moving to her ribs, chest, shoulders and neck. Due to the excruciating pain Aliyah was in, I took her to the emergency room at Joe DiMaggio's Children's Hospital and had her admitted.
Sunday October 22, 2023 I requested an MRI. Blood work and numerous additional tests were also completed and by late Monday evening we received the devastating news of Aliyah's diagnosis. Due to Aliyah's age and some other factors, she is high-risk and therefore we had to move swiftly to keep the cancer from spreading to other parts of her body, most importantly her brain.
On Tuesday October 24th Aliyah had 3 surgeries and immediately began 2 chemotherapy sessions the following day on Wednesday October 25th.
These are the first of many chemotherapy treatment sessions, hospitalizations, surgeries and procedures that Aliyah will endure during her journey here at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.
Aliyah is unable to eat leftovers and can only eat certain foods due to the high risk of bacteria entering into her system. With that being said, all of Aliyah's meals must be prepared fresh daily. Your generous donations will not only assist with the incurred expenses brought on by Aliyah's recent diagnosis, but it will assist drastically with all of the other household expenses by providing financial relief as I provide around the clock care for Aliyah, as I do not plan on returning to work until Aliyah is fully recovered.
Donate if you can. No amount too small, and please continue to pray for Aliyah's continued strength and healing. Together we can offer Aliyah hope, love, unwavering support, and all the resources possible to ensure her journey on this long road ahead, is as smooth as possible and that she returns to a life of normalcy she once knew.
