All eyes on Goma! Action matters

Bonjour,

Nous sommes un groupe de femmes africaines qui ne peuvent rester silencieuses et inactives face à la situation qui prévaut en ce moment à Goma, en République Démocratique du Congo. Le Rwanda et son M23 viennent d'entrer dans la ville créant mort et désolation. La population congolaise est livrée à elle-même dans le noir, à cause des coupures d'électricité, et pouvant difficilement communiquer avec l'extérieur du fait des coupures internet. Une partie de la population a pu fuir la ville et est sur les routes en ce moment. Face à ce drame qui se déroule sous nos yeux, notre devoir est de prendre position en apportant toute l'aide possible à cette population qui vit depuis 30 ans dans la terreur. Notre dernière cagnotte, en collaboration avec Gomactif, pour les déplacés de guerre avait récolté un franc succès et les dons avaient pu être acheminés dans leur totalité sans encombre. Aujourd'hui nous revenons de nouveaux à vous afin de dire au monde par votre geste, que le Congo, les Congolais existent et qu'ils ont droit à la considération du monde dans cette tragédie qui dure depuis trop longtemps. Aussi, mobilisons-nous pour les assister. Votre don est entre de bonnes mains et nous veillerons à ce que l'aide soit bien acheminé et bien utilisé. Notre coeur doit parler.

We are a group of African women who cannot remain silent and inactive in the face of the situation currently prevailing in Goma, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Rwanda and its M23 have just entered the town, creating death and desolation. The Congolese people are left to fend for themselves in the dark, because of power cuts, and can hardly communicate with the outside world because of internet blackouts. Some of the population have been able to flee the town and are on the roads at the moment. Faced with this tragedy unfolding before our eyes, our duty is to take a stand by providing all the help we can to this population, which has been living in terror for 30 years. Our last fund-raising campaign, in collaboration with Gomactif, for people displaced by the war, was a great success, and all the donations were channelled through without a hitch. Today we're coming back to you to tell the world, through your gesture, that the Congo and the Congolese people exist and that they are entitled to the world's consideration in this tragedy that has been going on for too long. So let's get together to help them. Your donation is in good hands, and we will ensure that it is properly channelled and used. Our hearts must speak.
