All for Aivah

are setting this go fund me up on behalf of Ronny, Renee, Aivah and Zhavia. They have all been through a rough few months and after this chapter is over the funds will be used to get Aivah the help she needs to get her lip as normal as possible. This is their story.

Last year 2020 we noticed Aivah had a small hard lump across her top right lip line. Every time she would play and bump it she would say it hurt her and would almost be in tears .. We took her to the dr an he said it was a type of cold sore an it would go away on its own.

A couple weeks past and it didn’t go anywhere in fact it started to grow in size into more of a hard lump so we took her back to the dr he then referred us to go and get an ultrasound and from then referred us to a plastic surgeon.

There was about a months wait so by the time we had seen the plastic surgeon the lump had grown even bigger. We were sent off to have an MRI on her lip and it came back as active blood cells and we were told the reason for the dramatic growing was because it was continuously filling up with blood from all the active cells they could see from the MRI scan.

We booked her in for surgery December 14, 2020 with the plastic surgeon to get it reduced in size. The surgery had been pushed back to January 25,2021 as there were urgent patients in need of surgery.

By the time Aivahs surgery had came around the lump on her lip tripled in size and started to change colour. She went in to surgery on the 25th and everything went well.

On February 5, 2021 I had a phone call from her plastic surgeon. He told me to expect a call from a dr from Westmead children’s hospital as he sent off a biopsy of Aivahs lip and it has came back as a Rhabdomysarcoma children’s cancer. The most devastating and heartbreaking news any parent could possible hear.

I got the phone call and booked and appointment at Westmead hospital on February 9,2021 the dr explained what this cancer was an how rare it is, especially it's location on Aivahs face/lip.

Prior to all of this we had planned to move from NSW to Melbourne as Ronny (Aivahs dad) worked in Melbourne and was travelling so often. So we explained that to the dr an he didn’t hesitate to tell us how amazing the Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne is and they would be able to provide Aivah with amazing care. So he made an appointment straight away for Aivah at the RCH that Thursday 11th we literally packed up our things and drove down.

A Rhabdomysarcoma is a cancer that forms in the muscle so Aivah had to have the whole lump removed and quite a large amount of her muscle on her top right lip.

Aivah has had 4 surgeries on total.

Her first surgery January 25, 2021 was to have the lump reduced in size that came back as cancer.

Her second surgery February 19, 2021 was to remove the whole lump and muscle the cancer was growing in.

Her third surgery March 1, 2021 was the first step of reconstruction. They had to take part of her bottom lip and muscle from her chin and flip it up to the top to replace the missing lip and then have the right side of her mouth sown shut for 2 weeks 4 days for the blood supply to form an more lip tissue to grow.

Her fourth surgery March 19, 2021 was the second reconstruction she had her lip reopened and fixed up as much as possible.
And while she was under they put in her port just near her ribs for her to start her Chemotherapy.

Aivah started her first dose of Chemotherapy the same day as surgery a couple hours later. 

Once her chemotherapy has finished we are certain she will be cured and won’t have to step foot back into the RCH

We would just like to start this go fund me for Aivah to put toward her future.
The Drs have done an amazing job but the procedures she has had have made a dramatic change in her appearance. The right side of her mouth is quite abit shorter now and she has a few noticeable scars. We would like raise some money for her to go towards any future scar reduction treatments or cosmetic surgerys to get her lip as back to normal as possible. ❤️
