All in for Alli - Assistance with Medical Bills
Donation protected
On February 19, my cousin Allison Gerhard was diagnosed with a rare Vertebrobasilar giant brain stem aneurysm - a type that only occurs in less than 1% of cerebral aneurysm diagnoses. Although it was caught and operated on before it ruptured, Allison has been experiencing brain swelling during her healing process which has required a lengthy stay in the ICU at Cleveland Clinic. Because of the position of her aneurysm, the swelling is pressing down on her spinal cord and affecting her state of consciousness and ability to move, breathe, and swallow on her own.
She has had ups and downs over the past month and though she is expected to make a full recovery, she will need to go to a long-term acute care facility for several months to regain her strength and learn how to walk and talk again. Medical bills are piling up fast and the Gerhards need help now more than ever.
If you have ever met Allison, I am sure you have at least one story to tell about that encounter. She is lighthearted, funny, loving, caring, generous and in the words of one of her best friends - "everything about Alli is infectious". She truly is the life of the party and just lights up any room she enters. We've always known she was one in a million and her diagnosis just proves it! Her husband John and soon-to-be 4-year-old son Shepard love and miss her terribly.
All funds gathered will be used to pay medical bills for Alli's hospital stays and any other doctor appointments, therapy, and medicines needed. If there are any funds left over, her husband will be donating them to https://calfoundation.org.
