“Do not be afraid, only believe.”

            Mark 5:36

To our family and friends,

Ten days ago, Rory sat in a doctor’s office with his beautiful wife, Amy, as she was told 3 words that no one ever wishes to hear, ‘You have cancer.’ Have you ever had to type out that word? It’s difficult to strike the keys, let alone process it in your mind.

As you can imagine, it has been hard for everyone to hear, and to attempt to process. Amy is a young mother to the sweetest kids; Calum, 2, and Harper May, 1, and she is about to fight a long and hard battle that by the grace of God she will overcome. It is going to take a team to do this, and we MUST join together to fight alongside her with prayer, encouragement, and even humor. The fact is that she has cancer, but she will not allow cancer to define her. Amy will fight with everything she has in her, because there are memories still to be made with two precious babies and a husband.

Amy is no stranger to teamwork. She spent the  majority of her working career around two of the top college football programs in the country. She worked tirelessly and selflessly to make sure that things were taken care of for the people that she supported in her job. She was surrounded by coaches, players and fans who all had one common goal...TO WIN! Now we must do the same for her. We need to build the team and create the support, so that Amy and her family can focus on one common goal...TO WIN!

Given the current situation that is going on around us with COVID-19, we have learned that it will be extremely difficult to physically support or contribute to Amy’s care. She will have limited outside contact during her first round of chemotherapy, which will last 5 months. Her first treatment is scheduled for this Thursday, May 14th. With so much unknown, we are also being told that this isolation may extend through surgery and subsequent treatments as well.

All of this to say that she needs OUR support more than ever, and we need to rally around her in WHATEVER way we can. At this time, one way that you can help us to make an impact is to contribute to her care, through prayer and financial donations. The monies collected will be used to supplement Amy’s medical care, help with childcare for Calum and Harper, and to offset expenses that their family will incur as they navigate this unfamiliar season in life. If COVID-19 did not exist, we would be scheduling trips to see Amy and to support their needs. However, the risk of exposing their family to outside germs is not worth it, so we have to oblige and take action from afar.

It is our job to support Amy and their family, so they can focus on the fight ahead, without distractions.

We are not looking behind us, we are choosing to push forward. Round 1...let’s fight. #allin4Amy
