Allen Gogarty Benefit

We are raising money for our friend Allen Gogarty.

Allen Gogarty has been a working musician based in New York City for the past 25 years, supporting his family solely on gigs he performs around the tri-state area. On Friday, December 2, Allen suffered a major heart attack, requiring an emergency trip to and a stay in the hospital. In order to help the family (Allen, his wife Amparo, and their two children) with medical expenses and everyday bills accrued while he recuperates, his friends have organized this fundraiser.

Allen is truly one of the hardest working musicians on the scene; and as a performer, has always been a willing participant in fundraiser benefits to help others in need. During the COVID lockdowns, although his family finances were stressed, he organized a weekly live stream show, singing songs and bringing comfort to all attendees in NYC, Ireland, Australia and beyond.

In addition to the GoFundMe, a benefit will be held on Saturday, February 11 at 2pm, at The Joyce (315 W 39th St, New York, NY). Live music will be performed all day and late into the night by many of Allen’s friends, who are among the best Irish bands and performers in New York City. There will be prize raffles and a 50/50 raffle on the day of (and much more!). There will be a $20 suggested donation at the door.

In the meantime, any and all donations would be much appreciated in order to help Allen and his family get through this tough time.
