Allen Perdue Memorial

December 23, 2023 will forever be a date that lives in our minds and in our hearts. In a very unexpected series of events last Saturday, my mom, dad and I found my brother unconscious in his trailer. My dad attempted CPR and did his best until the ambulance arrived. I stood by his side unsure what to do but there to help how I could. Once help arrived they took over and continued CPR, unfortunately he was already gone The ground became uneasy, our hearts exploding with overwhelming confusion, sadness and instant grief. If only. If only we had been there just minutes before. If only

Allen was born March 29, 1988 with a heart defect and had open heart surgery at 6 months old. It wasn’t until this year, that one of the valves became “faulty”. So, he had another open heart surgery in July of this year. Anthony and I were able to have him stay with us for almost two months as he recovered. This will forever mean the world to me, the time we got with him and that he got with Azzy.

We have been surrounded by love, near and far. The outpouring of love for Allen has shined brighter than ever before. We knew he was loved but wow! If only he really let himself know that….Allen, I hope you see that now. My brother and I couldn’t be any more different, but we enjoyed many of the same things and we knew each other well. We always understood where the other was, mentally. His heart was so full of love, always looking for someone special to love him back. The biggest heart I know. I am sure all of you who knew Allen can agree. ❤️

Please know, we have already felt the love and support of people around us. But I feel it’s important to allow people in Allen’s life, in my families life, to contribute in some way if they choose to do so. But also know, by reading this alone, that is enough. You cared, you loved. That is important and meaningful, so thank you

**A memorial service will be planned for Allen in Roseburg,likely in March, possibly on his birthday 3/29/2024. My family and I will share that event once we have confirmed those details.
