My name is Lea Welsh and I am raising funds for my brother, Allen Stevenson, so that we as a family might focus on getting him well.

When life has dealt someone with so many unfair blows from the start, this one is hard to fathom let alone accept. Yet here we are. This is what stage 4 colon "c" has done to him. In such a short time, 80 lbs lost and has aged him many years. Now broken out face, scalp, and entire upper body with new medication. Once able to lift a sofa or armoire by himself with arms to match, now those muscles are gone.

The tumors in his colon and liver are too large/numerous to operate. Doctors are giving him up to a 30% chance given that the chemo does shrink tumors enough for surgery.

Allen did not operate his life on a paycheck to paycheck basis. His savings carried him for several months while unable to work. He was responsible and working on growing his savings further after being forced to start anew more than once. Life insurance would have been another step. This crap has hijacked his health and ability to work. He traded in his sports car for something more modest with a lower car payment. Added his phone to a family plan for $20 a month, canceled gym membership, cable and internet too but other bills are mounting.

Months have been spent in bed because of weakness and also because it was too painful to sit anyway. Finally found one chair that didn't cause pain within moments of sitting. Payments are now being made on a very expensive but much needed chair.

Some medications are not covered but necessary. Multiple bathroom visits per hour make the water bill a larger expense, as well as toiletries.

With winter here, the summer mobile home on the lake with no furnace and old windows, becomes quite expensive to heat. Simple enough with his old wages as the serenity of the area was worth it to him. And yes, it is necessary for multiple reasons for him to remain there.

His deep freezer had to be replaced last week. Also on payments.

The total is just too much for any one or two people to cover as Karen, his girlfriend, and I have been doing including the constant trips up to help. 3 hrs for me one way. 4 1/2 if on to Cleveland Clinic from there.

It's no secret that I have been up to my eyeballs with nearly constant tragedy myself for almost 4 yrs now. Bill was in Allen's shoes. I was in Karen's. None of us need any extra worry.

Allen completes 3 mos of chemo the end of this month. An MRI will be done to determine if surgery is possible or if 3 more mos are neeed with diffrrent chemo drugs.

Allen is not one to ask for help so I am doing it for him by setting up this Go Fund Me account. Family and friends, will you please consider helping? Your continued prayers are greatly appreciated as well and desperately needed. The doctors can throw out their "inoperable" and possible percentages but ultimately it will be God's will. Thank you in advance and may God bless you all.
