All-Girl’s VEX Robotic Teams Road to World’s

On Saturday, March 12th, the all-girl VEX Robotics Team representing Loyalsock Township Middle School competed at the Eastern Pennsylvania State Championship in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The team, consisting of Bella, Gia, Madison, and Margaret faced off against 23 other teams from major STEM academies and schools in the greater Philadelphia and Harrisburg regions.

 

The girls placed 2nd overall in autonomous programing, 4th in skills challenge and 13th in tournament competition. In addition, they were awarded the Judges Choice award for teamwork, problem solving and programming.

 

The Loyalsock Township High School VEX team assisted the girls in their preparations, consisting of James, Austin, Ian, and Jessica, who had competed at the High School State Championship on February 26, placing 11th out of 46 teams.

 

In their first year of competition, the middle school team has qualified to compete at the World Championships, held in Dallas, Texas in May. This is where we need the communities help get these girls on the road there.

 

To get to the WORLD Competition from May 7th – 12th we need to raise money to cover: registration, traveling expenses, lodging, and meals for the team, mentors, and Coach Baker. 

We are accepting all donations to help these amazing students compete at the VEX IQ Worlds Competition. Allowing these kids to experience this level of competition will help them explore robotics further and learn from many other countries and teams from around the world.

 

If we exceed our expenditures any additional funds will be used for the 2022/2023 year as we will be purchasing the new court, new robot, and upcoming registration fees.
