Allie Cat and her Cancer Defeating Team
Donation protected
This fundraiser is being setup by Eleanor and David Kingsley for our courageous and beautiful daughter, Allison.
Allison went for her next to final wedding gown fitting in mid-March 2022. She was excited, bubbly, and working toward a wonderful life with man she loves. Full of the normal bridal highs you would expect from a healthy 34 year old, she was weeks away from her special day. She had a backache, but with no other fevers or symptoms, she was determined to do the fitting and she did. However, the backache worsened and she was up all night. When she and her fiancé left for home the next day, they decided to go to urgent care hoping that the doctors could give her something stronger than Tylenol for her back.
Urgent care was very concerned and sent her to the Emergency Department of the hospital. The hospital discovered that she had a severely inflamed gallbladder and large gallstones that had to be removed. This was done, and she was sent home. But the pain didn’t lessen. It got worse, and she was back in the ER. They were scanning her gallbladder area and did an odd angle up on the picture. That was how they caught the grapefruit size mass in her chest, the fluid filling her right lung and more fluid crushing her heart.
You can never un-hear the words that your child has a mass the size of grapefruit in her chest. This was shortly followed by a diagnosis – a rare and aggressive form of T-Cell Lymphoma Non-Hodgkins.
Just six short weeks away from her wedding. Just 34 years into her life. Just an accident that they took that particular angle for the x-ray. Just a miracle that they caught this intruder at possibly the earliest it was ever detected. Allison fought through recovery from gallbladder surgery, surgery to remove the fluid in her lung and heart surgery to drain the fluid on her heart. This was followed by a dizzying array of intensive chemotherapy – long words none of us could pronounce that would hopefully save her life.
Cancer knocked a positive, high energy person off her feet, but it never touched her resolve to defeat it and move forward with her wedding and her life. She fights every day to regain her pre-cancer strength but it will be some time and a long and taxing battle physically and financially. Allison faces a bone marrow transplant this August. It is her best chance to permanently defeat cancer.
This Go Fund Me has been setup for her to assist her with things she will need while she is unable to earn an income. She has a hard and frightening road ahead of her with a bone marrow transplant. And the recouperation time will be long and hard. She is fighting the physical and mental part. She has never given up hope through the entire ordeal. Please join her in her fight!
Please consider donating to help Allison with medical bills and ease any financial burdens she may face while she focuses on beating cancer!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, prayers & support.
