Hi Friends,

Our beautiful Allie needs a little help.
We all know how hard asking for help is
but sometimes we need it, and that’s
okay. She loves all of you so much and I’mgoing to let her take it from here:

love,
stacy

From Allie:

I have a brain tumor. The past two years have been a slow moving train wreck for me. I couldn’t remember how to begin my own day, let alone lead a staff of cooks
through theirs. I thought it was stress,
but lots of others things started fading as well-my sense of self, my memory, my
ability to make decisions, my behavior
and mood: all the things that make me
ME. I’ve spent the last 2 years being mad at myself for something that was out of my control.
In May, I started having seizures and
after months of tests and procedures,
they discovered a brain tumor
dominating my temporal lobe. We think
it’s a ganglioglioma but we won’t know
until it’s removed and biopsied.
On December 10th I’m having brain
surgery to pull that soul sucker out of my head. Its a surgery that comes with risks and long term effects. I’m choosing to
share my story now because I need some help. I am unemployed and am facing a
mountain of uncertainty in my near
future. My recovery process will be
painful and slow and I’m not sure when I will get to see your smiling faces around a dinner table again. This year has
brought unprecedented sadness and
stress for everyone, I think we are all at
the end of our proverbial ropes. If you
know me, you know how deep my
stubborn roots grow- asking for help is
not a skill I excel at. Anything you can
donate would be massively appreciated, even if it’s just a smile. I promise to post
updates as they come, but for all of you
asking what I’m up to these days: it’s a
work in progress, but it will be worth it in the long run. Thank you all for your
prayers and happy thoughts, and thank
you for spreading the word. This too
shall pass!

P.s. I have the most AMAZING team of
dr’s at @nyulangone and I am in the best hands possible. They all deserve a shout out for the amazing work they do.
