Allison and Covid: Not a Match Made in Heaven
Donation protected
Recently, one of the sweetest people that I have ever met somehow contracted covid. This was after being vaccinated and boosted, and after staying in her home as much as she could and wearing a mask everywhere.
It was the second time that she'd had covid.
Allison has been in and out of the emergency room these last few months. She's done it with her usual humor and charm, making Tik Tok videos to thank people who sent her Get Well cards, joking about running marathons, and endlessly talking about pink flamingos.
This week, Allison went back in, having contracted double pneumonia. Her breathing isn't getting much better. She's very weak, and the medicines that she's on are making her tired.
But here's the thing... it's not just Allison who is hurting. Her husband Ryan, a mailman for the USPS, has needed to call off work so that he can stay home with her and their children.
Her children -- two who are 18, one who is 15, one who is 10 and one who is 5 -- are worried about their mother, of course, but are also trying to get to school, keep their lunches packed, and do their homework. It's a lot to juggle.
I'm asking for money to help this family. A year ago, their house burned down, and they've just gotten back on their feet. Their medical bills are piling up, and both Allison and Ryan have missed multiple days at work. They also have their new mortgage to pay. Please donate anything that you can. I know this is a hard time for many people, but Allison and Ryan have helped many in our community, so it's time to step up and help them now. Thank you so much.
