Help Allison beat cancer

Donation protected
Allison is in need of your help. She is facing a year of cancer medical treatment and will be out of work during this time.

Allison has been a part of so many different communities bringing a sense of play, laughter and participation, ready to help make things happen however she can. She is one of the most resourceful people finding solutions and silver linings even when facing deep challenges. 2023 is the first year she has ever had healthcare and it finally allowed her to see doctors to explore symptoms that she had been having for a while. In April a routine pap smear showed that she had signs of cervical cancer. It would take a few more months to get a full diagnosis. She was diagnosed with stage 3.32C invasive squamous cell carcinoma that had spread to her pelvic lymph nodes and her Para-aortic lymph node in her upper torso. .

After weeks of exploring treatment possibilities, Allison found a solid team to work with her at Texas Oncology. She will be facing 5 straight weeks of full abdominal radiation, followed by 2 weeks of daily radiation targeting the para-arotic lymph node. Then she will be getting another surgery for her 2 weeks of brachytherapy, that is internal radiation targeting the cervix.

In February there will be an analysis to see if the treatment was successful. There are a lot of unknowns when facing cancer, but Allison has a full community of people behind her helping her through appointments, places to stay near the treatment center and figuring out what to do. She is scared, but fighting with the same spirit she brings to everything she does. However, even with insurance, cancer treatment is very expensive and the effects of the treatment and the cancer have kept her from being able to work. We are trying to raise money to cover her $4000 deductible (which will reset in January), her medications and the mound of medical bills for this round of treatment and surgeries. In addition as a freelancer she will not be able to work for approximately six months. She has brought so much to everyone’s lives who knows her and it would make all the difference to get help with her medical finances. Together we can help her on her road to a successful recovery!
